Antioxidants and Adaptogens

Antioxidants are chemical substances (molecules, ions, radicals) or physical agents that slow or prevent the oxidation of biological macromolecules that make up body's cells. They are in particular vitamins (C, E, B2) and minerals (zinc, copper, selenium, manganese) that contribute to protecting cells from oxidative stress. Numerous herbal extracts have also an antioxidant activity that may counteract the effects of free radicals (e.g. grape, black pepper, pomegranate, cranberry, goji, acai and others). The molecules with adaptogenic activity help better address the everyday life and special times of stress, this category also includes herbal extracts such as ginseng, suma, rhodiola and others.
